Cinnamon came to us furious, confused, and full of anger after being abandoned at 17 after losing everything and being tortured and mistreated,” The Orphen Pet said on YouTube. “And, despite the fact that we feared her days were numbered, she not only survived, but flourished.”

Her owners, an elderly couple who had looked after her for 17 years, died just months apart. Cinnamon was forced to live with relatives, which she found to be a nightmare.

She was assaulted and tormented while being pursued about with sticks. She was booted out at the age of 17 and left to care for herself.

Fortunately, she was taken in by the Orphen Pet.

The initial months were difficult. Cinnamon was enraged, terrified, and alone. Her caregivers supplied her with the space she need, as well as food, drink, and a warm place to remain.

Cinnamon gradually began to emerge from her shell as the months passed. She began to eat in front of her new family, to move around the room rather than hide in the corner, and to meow when her people sat with her.

She enjoyed sitting at the window, soaking up the light. She began to feel more at ease, and she began to think that her new family would not harm her. Sadly, Cinnamon was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer
