Sacramento Kings, Kings of Overtime in Thrilling Victory Against Los Angeles Lakers

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 132-127 in double overtime on Friday night in a thrilling game at Crypto.com Arena. The Kings trailed by as many as 17 points in the second half, but they rallied to force overtime and eventually come away with the victory.

De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 37 points, including 11 points in the two overtimes. Malik Monk also had a big game for the Kings, scoring 11 points in overtime and finishing with 26 points overall.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Anthony Davis also had a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

The Kings got off to a hot start in the game, leading by as many as 10 points in the first quarter. However, the Lakers responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Kings 35-19 to take a 54-45 lead into halftime.

The Lakers extended their lead to 17 points in the third quarter, but the Kings started to chip away at the lead in the fourth quarter. Fox scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Kings cut the lead to 111-104 with under a minute to play.

The Kings then forced overtime on a three-pointer by Monk with 10 seconds left in the regulation.

The Kings continued their momentum in overtime, outscoring the Lakers 12-6 in the first overtime period to take a 116-113 lead. The Lakers tied the game at 121-121 with under a minute to play in the first overtime, but the Kings forced a second overtime on a free throw by Fox with one second left.

The Kings took control of the game in the second overtime, outscoring the Lakers 11-6 to come away with the victory.

The Kings’ victory was their third in a row and their fourth in their last five games. The Kings are now 8-8 on the season, which is good for seventh place in the Western Conference.
