Мeet Мatilda Тhe Сat With Тhe Аlien Еyes

Meet Matilda, a typical Tabby cat with out-of-this-world eyes who is otherwise an average cat. The cat with the enormous, glassy eyes has been referred to as a “alien cat,” but it turns out that she didn’t always have those eyes.

On February 14th, 2013, Matilda was born in a hoarder home in a tiny town. After being found and saved by a rescue organization, she was adopted by a caring family 12 weeks later.

Matilda had what appeared to be normal eyes at birth, but as she got older and bigger, she occasionally developed one squinty eye. Thus, Matilda was taken to a veterinary ophthalmologist by her owners.

The doctor discovered that Matilda had a condition called’ lens luxation’. Since she had a collagen deficiency, she would have a hard time healing from injuries and surgery.

The family decided to simply monitor it because they wanted to avoid a traumatic surgery at all costs and, for a while, she took eye drops to relieve any pain and treat. She also gets regular checkups to monitor any changes signs that she’s uncomfortable (the pressure levels in her eyes remain normal). She is nearly blind, but she can still see light and motion.

With 159,000 followers, the cosmic cat has attracted a lot of interest on Instagram, where her human partners post pictures and videos of the unique feline. It was eventually time to remove Matilda’s eyes totally in March 2016. Her famed and adored large eyes had started to work against her.

Even though Matilda can no longer see, her parents and canine brother still adore her and make her feel happy.
